Girls cross country team places 2nd at Carrollton Orthopaedic Invite

The girls varsity cross country team finished second only to McIntosh High School in the competitive Carrollton Orthopaedic Invitational this past Saturday. The meet was hosted at the difficult course of the state cross country championship, which the girls will compete on again in hopes of a state title early this November.

They were led by junior Emilia Weinrobe, who medaled in the race with a 7th place finish in a time of 21:11. They had an average time of 22:09 and a total score of 119, enough to land them a podium spot as the runner-up.

The team is back in action this Wednesday at the final rendition of the APS Weekly Meet Series hosted at Cheney Stadium.
