eSports Club triumphs at first competition

Grady's eSports Club won a recent Smite competition, winning all 3 games against North Atlanta High School and Creekside High School. Club members Simon Roode, Elliot Willner, Luca Ptacek, Leo Hollingworth, Bryson Bien, and Franklin Geer represented Grady. The club may compete in a LAN tournament later in the spring as well as host a college eSports information session

Track teams sweep home opener meet

The girls and boys track teams finished first in the Grady Opener, the teams' first home meet. The girls outscored second place Mays 146 to 133.50 and the boys outscored Douglass 133 to 121. The teams travel to Griffin on March 2 for the Griffin Ross Invitational. All Tuesday home meets this season have been relocated to Lakewood Stadium.

APS college signing day set for Feb. 6

Atlanta Public Schools will host its annual college signing day for athletes district-wide on Feb. 6 at Therrell High School. The event is for all athletes who are signing, have signed or will sign a National Letter of Intent on that day for a college team.

Grady's girls and boys varsity basketball games originally scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 29, will be played tonight instead ahead of a forecast tomorrow for snow and freezing temperatures. Carver is Grady's next to last region contest before closing the regular season Friday, Feb. 1 at Banneker.

The Knights' girls and boys basketball teams are firmly into their region schedules and face Region 6AAAAA rival Lithia Springs tonight in a home game. The girls play at 5:30 p.m. followed by the boys at 7 p.m. Lithia Springs girls are third in the region with a 9-8 overall record and a 5-2 region mark. The boys basketball team fell 66-51 to region rival Decatur last night, to drop to 3-4 overall and 1-2 in Region 6AAAAA.
