The Southerner wins Columbia Scholastic Press Association’s top award for second consecutive year

The Columbia Scholastic Press Association named the Southerner and a 2020 Gold Crown Award winner on Mar. 2o, following the Oct. 2019 nomination. The award is one of the three top national high school journalism awards given annually. This year’s award represents the fourth time, and two years consecutive that the Southerner has earned the top honor by CSPA. Earlier this month, many members on staff were honored by Quill & Scroll and SIPA as well.
