The new North American home to Porsche is located right here in Atlanta. Near Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, the new 26.4 acre site holds everything any car lover would enjoy.

As the first complex built in the “Aerotropolis Atlanta” business district, Porsche is  trying to encourage further development of the area and support the surrounding area of Hapeville. Delta also added a non-stop flight to Stuttgart, Germany which is very convenient for the executives that fly over almost every day to these state of the art facilities.

“Porsche is seriously involved with community events and improvements. Porsche cares not only for the city of Atlanta, but the actual city it’s located in, Hapeville,” said Denisea Patton, a Porsche spokeswoman. “You have to care about the community you call home and Porsche is continuously involved in the community.”

The facilities boast a 1.6 mile long test track with a road course that demonstrates the capabilities of Porsche automobiles. The handling circuit is a mile long track that mimics a long, winding country road that tests the driver’s skills and the car’s registration of curves and bumps. It includes a low friction circle which shows off the over-steering capabilities of the car, a kick plate which demonstrates how the car handles in inclement weather, a low-friction handling surface with smooth, polished concrete and a series of tight twists and turns.

In addition to this, the off road circuit features a creek bed, a 1:1 slope, and a 45-degree vertical descent that tests even the most skilled of drivers. A driving coach accompanies you throughout the entire course to provide assistance when needed.

Inside the sleek building, it is easy to see pretty early on that the builders spared no expense.  The big windows that extend across the back wall of the lobby overlook the magnificent courtyard and test track, and the gray accents go well with the brand new 918  Spyder concept car that sits in the main hallway.

The first floor is home to the design center, the store, meeting rooms, the café, the state of the art gym, simulation center, and of course plenty of Porsches. The design center is the place to create anything Porsche. With hundreds of different design combinations, the design center is where the car is made to be completely personalized. The store sells Porsche merchandise from apparel to miniature cars. Next to the store is the coffee shop where customers can sit and wait for their turn on the track. The gym features state of the art equipment and trainers, which professional athletes can pay upwards of 700 dollars per session to utilize. The simulation center houses multiple state of the art driving simulators with similar technology that professional race car drivers use to train for races.

The second floor contains the staff cafeteria, offices and meeting rooms, and the 365 fine dining restaurant. The 365 features spectacular panoramic views of the track and of the planes taking off from the nearby airport.  With a sleek design to mimic the tones and look of the car that gives it its namesake, the 365 mixes just the right amount of fine-dining elements with comfort while embodying the Porsche spirit.

Running through the building, One Porsche drive offers a way to drive the cars to and from the track and bring in cars needing to access the restoration center. Underneath the first floor is the restoration center, the Porsche museum, and one of the event spaces. The restoration center fixes and remodels cars whether old or new. The Porsche museum exhibits cars from around the world.

Porsche has also donated 500,000 dollars to the BeltLine and continues to work with them and help sponsor events such as the Lantern Parade. Although Porsche is very protective over their brand, they continue to contribute to the community and involve themselves.

Overall, the new headquarters contains something from everyone, whether you’re a seasoned car expert or a child that doesn’t know anything about cars. The welcoming and friendly feel of the building and its staff makes anyone want to stay and enjoy every part of the new facilities.
