TECHNICALLY SPEAKING — Referee Mark Davis tosses Celtic point guard Rajon Rondo with 41 seconds remaining in Game 1 in Sunday’s opening-round NBA Playoff series between Rondo’s Celtics and the host Atlanta Hawks. After trailing the entire game, the Celtics were mounting a fourth-quarter comeback and trailed by only four points when Davis called Brandon Bass for a loose-ball foul after Bass dove to the floor along with the Hawks’ Josh Smith and the Celtics’ Kevin Garnett. Rondo received two quick technicals, first for arguing the call and then for chest-bumping Davis from behind. Smith scored a team-high 22 points for the Hawks and grabbed a playoff career-high 18 rebounds for the Hawks.
