Grady’s CCRPI increases nearly six points

Grady’s College and Career Readiness Performance Index (CCRPI) increased nearly six points to 87.5 from 81.7, according to data released today by the Georgia Department of Education.

While the state’s 2019 CCRPI score decreased by 0.7 points to 75.9 from 2018, scores in Atlanta Public Schools increased by 0.7 points to 74.1, narrowing the gap between the state and the district.

The CCRPI combines information related to standardized test scores, literacy, attendance, enrollment and graduation from the previous school year and produces a score on a 0-100 scale and is used to compare the progress of schools in the state and across different districts and schools.

2019 CCRPI scores can be compared to 2018 scores, since they were calculated with the same formula, but previous years used a different formula, the education department said.

APS high schools saw an increase of 4.9 points to 70.4. The state’s high school average is 77.0.

Middle schools saw a decrease, including Grady’s feeder school Inman Middle which dropped by 2.1 points. APS middle schools fell to 72.2, while the state’s average was 72.1.

APS elementary school’s CCRPI decreased .02 to 76.6 while the state average was 77.1.
