Alumnus delivers memorable speech at 2013 Harvard Law commencement

Josie Duffy, Class of 2005, spoke at Harvard University’s 362nd Commencement held on Thursday, May 30.

She was one of two law school graduates of  the more than 700 in the Harvard Law School Class of 2013, to speak at the ceremony.

She used the opportunity to urge her classmates to “embrace the grey area,” and be not only lawyers but also “fighters, peacemakers, preachers and engineers.”  She also thanked her grandparents and parents for their roles in encouraging her education and teaching her the importance of helping others. Duffy implored her classmates to use their power as lawyers to help people every day.
