News Brief

After the Atlanta City Council erroneously tweeted today Mayor Kasim Reed vetoed an ordinance to reduce fines and eliminate jail time for possession of small amounts of marijuana, the mayor praised Grady journalism students.

“I’ve been interviewed by journalism students at Grady High School that know to call the source,” Reed told the press today.

The Mayor chastised the professional media for spreading unverified misinformation and Council President Ceasar Mitchell for the erroneous release.

The council said an intern released the information in error over Twitter.
