Behind the rock solid goaltending of sophomore Billie Lavine, the Grady girls lacrosse team capped off a perfect 11-0 season last Thursday with a 9-1 thumping of Northgate at Grady Stadium. The lopsided victory came a day after Grady dispatched another visiting challenger, Dunwoody, 10-1.
Prior to those home victories, the Lady Knights captured the Tilt Tournament championship at Northview High School. The team defeated Duluth, 6-4, North Gwinnett, 9-6, and Collins Hill, 8-5, to run its record to 9-0.
Sophomore team captain Lindsey Van Beck and freshmen Sofia Leblanc and Avery Bufkin led a torrid offense that averaged nearly nine goals per game over the final five victories of a season of perfection.
