Senior Quinn Fischel throws the final pitch of the Knights' rivalry game against Jackson. The full count pitch led to a groundball to win the game for the Knights 5-4.

The Knights' win over the Jaguars marked their first win against Jackson in three years. It also solidified the Knights' place as third in Region 5-AAAAA ahead of Chapel Hill.

Senior Taylor Goldstein prepares to throw to second base to catch a Jaguars player stealing. Goldstein led the team in home runs and on-base percentage which led him to be selected to the all-region team.

Junior shortstop Neil Sevigny hits a single in the sixth inning of the Knights' 5-4 win against Jackson. Sevigny went on to steal second base and score the game-tying run later in the game.

The Knights baseball team celebrate in the outfield after taking down the Maynard-Jackson Jaguars 5-4 on April 15. Head coach Jordan Tarver said that this game meant a lot more than just another win. “The guys had one goal in mind besides making it to the playoffs and that was beating Maynard-Jackson,” Tarver said. “That was a highlight of the season. That’s something to definitely build off with that energy from that win.”

Senior Harrison Briggs celebrates on second base after hitting the go-ahead double in the sixth inning. This put the Knights ahead 5-4 over Jackson which led to their first win over the Jaguars in three years.

Senior Harrison Briggs slides into home plate to score the Knights' first run of the game. Briggs said the team improved massively this year in multiple areas. "[Compared to last year,] we can hit better, and we definitely have more depth at pitching," Briggs said.

Junior Trent Bockman takes the ball up against Forest Park on Nov. 22. Both Trent and his sister Devin Bockman have played basketball since they were children, and he believes that their dynamic has pushed him to improve as a player.

On June 2, The Atlanta Board of Education chose not to renew its contract with current superintendent Dr. Lisa Herring. A Georgia native, Herring was previously superintendent for Birmingham City Schools and was hired by APS in July of 2020 during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.
