The girls swim team competed at the State Meet in the week of Feb. 3 and placed 5th out of 23 teams. Sophomore Sarah Paisley Owen placed 1st in the 50yd freestyle and 1st in the 100yd freestyle, breaking her own school and state record. Sophomore Rhea El-Deiry placed 5th in the 200yd individual medley and 2nd in the 100yd breaststroke, breaking the school records for both of these events. Sophomore Dabney Bond placed 7th in the 200yd individual medley and 5th in the 500yd freestyle. Sophomore Harper Wagner placed 11th in the 100yd breaststroke and 11th in the 500yd freestyle. Senior Katya Tumanova placed 12th in the 200yd individual medley and 11th in the 100yd butterfly.
The 400yd relay team with El-Deiry, Bond, Owen and Tumanova placed 1st and broke the school record. The 200yd freestyle relay with El-Deiry, Bond, Owen and Tumanova placed 3rd and broke the school record. In the 200yd medley relay, the team consisted of freshman Charlie Reed and sophomores Wagner, Lela Hart and Lily Neff and placed 15th.
