The Carter Presidential Center hosted a public visitation from Jan. 4 to Jan. 7, allowing visitors to pay their respects to former President and Georgia Governor Jimmy Carter.
Throughout this cold and gloomy weekend in Atlanta, over 20,000 people have passed through the Carter Presidential Center to visit him in repose and pay tribute to former President Jimmy Carter prior to his official funeral in Washington D.C. on Thursday. Carter passed away on December 29, 2024, at the age of 100. Former President Carter was the governor of Georgia from 1971 to 1975 and was the only President from Georgia, serving from 1977 to 1981.
