Herring considers new principal for Midtown cluster elementary school

Ms. Kari Schrock has been recommended by Superintendent Herring to serve as the first principal of the new Midtown Cluster elementary school.

Schrock has been in the education field for the last 28 years and worked in an array of positions, from special education to administration and elementary to high school. She is a graduate of Florida State University from which she holds a BS and MS in Special Education. After relocating to Atlanta in 1998, she continued her education at Georgia State University where she earned certification in Educational Leadership and has since served as an assistant principal at the high school level from 2005-2013 and principal level since 2013.

This consideration will be voted on by the Atlanta Board of Education in the October Board meeting agenda and, if selected, Schrock’s position will become effective immediately.
