The gas prices in Georgia should remain lower than in other states. Gov. Brian Kemp extended the suspension of Georgia’s gas tax on Wednesday, Aug. 3, which was originally set to expire on Aug. 13. To date, suspending the gas tax has cost Georgia nearly $500 million in revenue. But, state leaders confirm that for now, the state can afford it.
