School celebrates renaming, new building with ribbon-cutting ceremony

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held in the library on Oct. 27 to celebrate the renaming of Midtown High School from Grady High School and the recent expansion of the school. Atlanta Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Lisa Herring gave a speech, along with Midtown Principal Dr. Betsy Bockman, School Board Member Leslie Grant and Atlanta City Council Member Matt Westmoreland. The Midtown High School Orchestra, Marching Band, Chorus and JROTC also participated in the event.
