Senior Madeline Moser, a former gymnast and competitive cheerleader, has been spending her free time teaching gymnastics to five to 10-year-olds.

“During a normal class, which is an hour, we stretch and warm-up, and then we go to either the beam, floor or the vault and bars,” Moser said. “I set up 6 or 7 stations for the kids to rotate through during the class period. I spot the kids as well as give them tips on their skills.”

Although the Covid-19 pandemic has provided difficulties for the class, the staff, including Moser, are getting vaccinated towards the end of March.

“It’s been harder to teach during COVID because we have to clean each station after each kid uses it. Also, teaching in a mask is hard because you have to speak louder for everyone to hear you,” Moser said. “However, the gym tests staff members once a week and all staff are getting vaccinated soon.”
