Junior Tui Brattain has played roller derby since she was six years old, but the pandemic has forced her league to close and practices to stop.

“I have really missed derby over the pandemic. Our last practice was in early March and our last game was in February. The thing I miss most is going to practices, seeing my friends, and being able to focus on the sport.”

Brattain loves the environment that roller derby provides.

“Derby, both the sport and the wonderful people involved, is very supportive and community-centered. It’s been hard not having that during this time.”
