Board of Education approves timeline for superintendent search

The Atlanta Board of Education on Monday approved a rough draft of the timeline for the search for a replacement for Superintendent Dr. Meria Carstarphen. The timeline states that the board will begin recruiting candidates for the position in December with plans to announce the sole finalist in May, 2020. The board concurrently approved the allocation of up to $25,000 to hire a facilitator to oversee community engagement efforts related to the search.
