The Atlanta Board of Education released on its website the names of 10 principals and will vote to approve the candidates at a board meeting on Monday, June 2. The board approved Timothy Guiney as the new Grady principal.
Guiney has worked as an educator for 12 years in the Clayton County School District as both an administrator and an educator. The selection committee interviewed and scored the applicants, then submitted the top candidates to Meria Carstarphen, who ultimately chose Guiney as the principal. The Board of Education then voted on, and subsequently passed, the report.
