Hurricane Erin is a Catagory two hurricane with Catagory three sustained winds. It passed the Bahamas on Tuesday, Aug. 19 and is expected to impact areas on the East Coast, including North Carolina and Atlanta. While it is not projected to come on land, the height of it’s impact in Atlanta is expected between Aug. 20 and Aug. 27. Hurricane Erin has already had effects on areas along the East coast, including North Carolina where 75 rip-current rescues occured.
