Saturday’s pollen count is 14,801 in Atlanta, making it the highest recorded pollen count in 35 years.
The pollen comes primarily from trees, including oak, pine, sycamore, sweet gum and birch, and weeds, including mugwort and sheep sorrel, with grass pollen and mold levels reportedly low. Forecasted rain may wash some of this pollen away later in the week, providing relief from allergy-induced symptoms.
