President Joe Biden declared Thursday, Jan. 9, as the National Day of Mourning for the 39th President, Jimmy Carter. It invites mourners to assemble and pay tribute to President Carter’s life and legacy.
On Thursday, all executive departments and agencies of the Federal Government will be closed except for certain offices and installations that must stay open. Also, the day will be a holiday for all federal workers excluding those who must work to maintain national security, defense and important public needs.
