Junior Lawson Scott is in his first year of running for Midtown’s track and field team, where he primarily competes in the 400 meter dash and hopes to participate in high jump. He has enjoyed his experience thus far.

“I initially joined the team because my friends were joining, and the season has lived up to my expectations,” Scott said. “It’s a sport that I’ve always wanted to do, and which I think matches my skills well. It’s been a lot of fun.”

Outside of track and school, Scott is also involved with drone piloting and editing videos. He works with realtors and organizations like Airbnb and Vrbo to promote their venues.

“I have been flying drones since the age of eight, and I have capitalized on that skill because I can edit the videos I make through drone shots,” Scott said. “Making and editing videos is very relaxing to me, and it’s really rewarding to see the final products.”
