Students place at Regional Science Fair

The results from the Atlanta City Regional Science and Engineering Fair held in February were announced, and several Midtown students won awards.

Gold Key Award (Scores 90 and above):
• Avi Crosby, Solunne Fedovskiy & Lily Reilly – “Determining Which Acne Medication Works” Moving on to GSEF (state competition) in Athens, GA, then ISEF (international competition) being held in Atlanta this year
• Charlie Fucile & Sam Neff – “Air Pressure Effect on Precision in Water Polo” Moving on to GSEF (state competition) in Athens, GA
• Rohan Reddy, Oscar Strachan & Pablo Vempala – “Predicting Bird Migration Using Artificial Intelligence” Moving on to GSEF (state competition) in Athens, GA

Silver Key Award (Scores 80-89):
• Sofia Vempala – “Sexism and Artificial Intelligence”

Bronze Key Award (Scores 70-79):
• Greyson Forster & Evan Weimann – “Hey, I’m Walking Here! An Empirical Analysis of Comparative Efficacy of Pedestrian Crossing Indicators”
• Harrison Sexton & Nathaniel Polk – “Are Expensive Golf Balls Worth the Money?”

Honorable Mention:
• Delia Schroeder, Willa Silvis & Savannah Markham – “The Effect of Power Posing on Teens”
 Shalin Bhatia & Eamon Walsh –  “The Effect of Different Sports Drinks on Their Conductance Levels”
