Music Midtown Prepares to Make Waves Once Again

Atlanta’s largest music festival, Music Midtown, prepares to set up camp in Piedmont Park in just two weeks, building anticipation among music lovers far and wide. The festival is predicted to have the largest crowd yet with an eclectic lineup ranging from hip-hop to iconic rock. The star-packed lineup includes headliners Bruno Mars, Mumford and Sons, Future, and Blink 182.
After a six-year hiatus, Music Midtown returned to Piedmont Park in 2011 and attendance has increased every year since. The festival is set to take place September 16th and 17th. For the second year, the festival will be on a Saturday and Sunday.
Headliners have big shoes to fill following the 2016 lineup including The Killers and Twenty One Pilots gathering the largest crowd of 130,000. The festival is sure to draw in all ages with both pop star Bruno Mars and 1990’s hit band Blink 182. Other acts set to perform include Weezer, Big Sean,Young the Giant, HAIM, Two Door Cinema Club, Wiz Khalifa, Tove Lo, Collective Soul, The Naked and Famous and The Strumbellas.
As always, Music Midtown features up-and-coming artists to kick off the festival. This year includes a variety of musical genres such as Daye Jack, Circa Waves, Midnight Larks and Coin. The festival not only incorporates wide-range music choices but features artists on the rise. No music taste left behind.
Ticket prices are $135 plus fees for a 2-day pass, relatively cheap compared to other Atlanta music festival Shaky Knees’ price of $99 for just one day. Although after September 2nd, prices go up to $145. So mark your calendars and get ready to jam out to your favorite 90’s hit or “mask off” below Atlanta’s magnificent skyline.
