Sophie Rice is a junior who loves learning new languages and spends her free time practicing on Duolingo, a free app that teaches many different languages. Through her love of languages, Sophie has also found a love of Norway and Norwegian culture.

“I do Duolingo every day,” Rice said. “I did Spanish for years, and I started Norwegian in April 2020. Now the language has become a part of my everyday life. I check the news in Norwegian, practice speaking every day, and have even been able to understand some Danish and Swedish because of their similarities to Norwegian. I want to travel to Norway and maybe even work there someday.”
