Jory Richardson, sophomore

Sophmore Jory Richardson has been swimming for over 7 years. She swims for Grady’s Varsity swim team and year round. Richardson is very committed, practicing 8 times a week at Georgia Tech. She currently holds three records for Grady and has six top 5 individual swims. Last year she placed 3rd in the state for her age in the 200 backstroke. What started out as summer fun has progressed into Richardson excelling in the sport.

“I first started swimming when I was 8 because my friend invited me to do summer league with her,” Richardson said. “After that season, I realized I actually enjoyed the sport and wanted to pursue it. So I joined a year-round team where I continued to drop time and realized I could really be good at my sport.”
