A dress hand-painted in silk by Grady fashion teacher V. Kottavei (Richmond) Williams, in conjunction with international designer Therez Fleetwood, made its way to the Emmy Awards’ red carpet on Sept. 17. The dress was worn by science fiction Nnedi Okorafor, who was escorted by “Game of Thrones” producer George R.R. Martin. The program was broadcast on NBC.
