A memorial service was held in the stadium yesterday to honor the passing of junior Alec Bruno. As students locked arms, poetry was read, songs were sung and stories were shared. In a speech, senior Joe Lavine reminded Grady’s student body that,
“No, we can’t undo the tragedies that have occurred. But we can use them to inspire us to do all that we can do to prevent another tragedy from occurring. The simple, small acts of kindness go a long way.”
Assistant Principal David Propst concluded the event with the words on everyone’s minds: “We needed this.”
