Kate Carter, an adviser of The Southerner since 2008, is leaving the paper after six years. She will be devoting more time to her family and assisting her husband in his run for governor. The Southerner staff of 2013-2014 recorded these statements to describe the impact Ms. Carter had on the staff and on their education, as well to thank her for all of her time, dedication and encouragement.
