Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested 4,500 individuals in Georgia between Jan. 20 and July 31, a 367% increase compared with the same span under President Biden, according to The Department of Homeland Security. Atlanta’s ICE field office—covering Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina—is among the most active nationwide. About 76 percent of those arrested in Georgia had criminal convictions or pending charges, down from 87 percent in the Biden administration’s final six months.
