Varsity Esports advances to second round of playoffs

Varsity Esports Rocket League team beat North Forsyth 3-0 in the first round on Thursday, Jan. 9 to advance to the second round of the playoffs. They are scheduled to face Atlanta International School at 4:00 p.m. this Thursday at Axis Replay.

Divers perform well at Riverwood Invitational

Three divers finished in the top 20 at the Riverwood Invitational, held at the Marist School, this past Saturday,  Jan. 11. Freshman Anna DiCarlo finished 5th,  freshman Jenna Ragan finished 10th and sophomore Ella Mitchell finished 16th. They all qualified to dive at the 5oth Annual Metro Championship at Westminster, to be held on Saturday. 

Spring sports begin official practices next week

Track & field, baseball, and soccer practices officially start on Monday, Jan. 13. Additional spring sports, including lacrosse and ultimate frisbee, will be starting practices in the coming weeks. 

Girls basketball 9-4 overall, 4-1 in Region 6AAAAA

The varsity girls basketball team is now 9-4 overall. The team played a game over the mid-semester break on Jan. 4 against Paideia and won 57-45. They played again Tuesday Jan. 7 against Banneker and won 61-47. The girls are second overall in the region behind Riverwood. The girls' next game is an away conference game against Lithia Springs on Friday Jan. 10. Go Knights!

Boys basketball 6-7 overall, 2-3 in Region 6AAAAA

The varsity boys basketball team is now 6-7 overall. The team played a game over the mid-semester break on Jan. 4 against Paideia and won 73-37. Before the break, the Knights ended the decade with a loss against DREW Charter 71-63 on Dec. 14. Since coming back from the break, the team has played one game against Banneker on Jan. 7, losing to the Region 6AAAAA opponents 70-59....

Basketball teams to play their first conference games

The basketball teams will be playing their first conference games at home against Lithia Springs Tuesday, Dec. 3. Both teams have a 3-3 record. The girls will play at 6:00 pm and the boys will play at 7:30 pm. The Lithia Springs boys' team is currently ranked 10th in the Class 5A region.

Wrestling team to host first home meet of the year

The wrestling will be having their first host meet of the year against Lithia Springs on Wednesday, November 20. The meet will be held in the Grady Practice Gym at 5:30 pm.

Basketball teams seasons tip off at home

The basketball teams play in their first regular season games at home against Paideia Friday, Nov. 8. The JV boys play first at 4:30 p.m., the varsity girls at 6p.m. and the varsity boys at 7:30 p.m.. The varsity boys hope to bounce back from a one point loss to Douglass in a scrimmage game that took place on Nov. 5.

The boys cross country team finished third in the Class 5A State Cross Country meet today at Carrollton High School.
