Spring Football Game

The varsity football team plays Therrell High School in their spring game on Friday May 17 as a lead up to the 2019 season. Grady finished last season 1-9 and will hope to have a better 2018 season. Therrell also had a poor 2018 season finishing 2-8, which will lead to a good matchup for the knights. The game is at 7:30 at Grady stadium.

Tennis loses 3-0 against Chamblee in state championship

The boys varsity tennis team lost 3-0 against Chamblee Charter in the 5A State Championship on May 7 at 2:00 in Piedmont Park. This was the first time this year the two teams matched up. The game was originally set for May 4 at Rome Tennis Center but it was cancelled due to inclement weather.

The varsity boys and girls track teams went to Starrs Mill High School on May 4 to compete in the Sectional track meet. Only the athletes who finished top four in their event at Region the 6AAAAA meet qualified for the Sectional meet. Senior soccer players Anna Tischer, Mia Wood, co-captains Lena Brown and junior Kaitlin Palaian were named to the All-Region 6AAAAA Girls Team for the 2019 season. Boys tennis advances to Final Four in State 5A tournament

The boys tennis team beat Wayne County 3-0 on April 25 to advance to the semi-finals of the State 5A tournament. The tournament run is the deepest in program history, and the team lead by 11-0 senior Josh Wolfe, seniors Maximus Freightman and Jack Stegleman. The girls soccer team won their first playoff game against Paulding County High School 9-1.They will face Loganville in the second round on May 1, with aspirations of winning after losing in the sweet sixteen last year.

Lambert named APS Athletic Director of the Year

Grady athletic director, John Lambert, was named Atlanta Public Schools Athletic Director of the year earlier today. He has been the AD of Grady for two years but will be replaced by incoming AD, Patrick Johnson, a former basketball player at Duke.

Cheerleading tryouts begin Thursday

Cheerleading team tryouts for the 2019-2020 school year will begin Thursday, April 11. Students must have teacher recommendation forms with the required minimum score and physicals on file with Coach Lambert by Tuesday in order to be eligible to try out.

Grady's eSports Club won a recent Smite competition, winning all 3 games against North Atlanta High School and Creekside High School. Club members Simon Roode, Elliot Willner, Luca Ptacek, Leo Hollingworth, Bryson Bien, and Franklin Geer represented Grady. Track teams sweep home opener meet

The girls and boys track teams finished first in the Grady Opener, the teams' first home meet. The girls outscored second place Mays 146 to 133.50 and the boys outscored Douglass 133 to 121. The teams travel to Griffin on March 2 for the Griffin Ross Invitational. All Tuesday home meets this season have been relocated to Lakewood Stadium.
