Potential rezoning is proposed for Midtown

Atlanta Public School’s Annual Facilities Review Process has identified three schools where overcrowding may be an issue. Rezoning may resolve these issues and would impact the Carver, Douglass, Jackson, Midtown and Washington clusters. On March 1, APS released proposed options, 1) no rezoning changes or 2) rezone Centennial Academy zone from Midtown High School to Washington High School.

APS will host both an in-person meeting at the old Inman/new Virginia Highland Elementary auditorium on Thursday, March 9 at 6 p.m. and virtually at 12 p.m. on March 9 as well. Registration for the virtual meeting can be found here. APS will identify one drafted proposal in April and the Board of Education will have their first read and potential vote on the recommendation at their May meeting.
