The boys and girls track and field team competed at the GHSA State Championship Thursday 5/12 – Saturday 5/14, sending multiple athletes to the podium. Senior Everett Schroeder had the strongest individual meet for the team, placing second in the boys 800 meter run and third in the boys 1600 meter run. Freshman Danayja Harper represented the girls side finishing second in the 300 meter hurdles as well as senior Taylor Edwards placing seventh in the triple jump. Just short of the podium for the boys was the 4 x 800 relay team (Devin Tabourn, Jordan Taylor, Everett Schroeder, Marcus Johnson), which finished eighth, and senior Ryan Jones who finished ninth in the discuss with a PR throw of 141-3.
