Knights girls cross country wins region

The Midtown girls cross country team took home the first place trophy from the 6AAAAA cross country championships hosted by Chapel Hill High School at the Clinton Nature Preserve. The team was a heavy favorite in the meet and delivered the results expected from them, and more. The first place finish qualifies them for the state championships, held in Carrollton on Nov. 6th.

The girls finished with three girls under 20 minutes for the 5k, led by a first-place finish for junior Jamie Marlowe in a personal-best time of 18:31. Sophomore Cary Schroeder was fourth in 19:31 and freshman Sierra Pape was fifth in 19:32, both personal-best times as well.
