Knights girls cross country places 9th at Coach Wood Invitational

The girls cross country team raced the championship 5k race at the Coach Wood Invitational this past Saturday, Oct. 16th. They finished 9th out of 30 schools in one of the most competitive meets in the state with a score of 309 and an average time of 20:05 including a 1-5 split of 1:53.
The team was led by junior Jamie Marlowe, who ran an impressive 18:45, a time good for 14th place in the meet, and was followed by a pack consisting of sophomore Cary Schroeder (20:17, 76th) and freshmen Cate Barton (2o:21, 78th) and Sierra Pape (20:24, 82nd).
The next competition for the team will be the 6AAAAA region championships in which the team will take on the challenging course at Clinton Nature Preserve at the meet hosted by Chapel Hill on Saturday, Oct. 23rd.
