Knights boys cross country competes in Coach Wood Invite

The boys cross country team raced the boys varsity 5k race at the Coach Wood Invitational this past Saturday, Oct. 16th. They finished 16th out of 36 schools in one of the most competitive meets in the state with a score of 435 and an average time of 18:09 including a 1-5 split of 1:55.

The team was led by season-best performances by seniors William Palmer, who placed 28th in a time of 17:14, and Marcus Johnson, who ran a personal-record time of 17:33 and placed 50th.

The next competition for the boys will be the 6AAAAA region championships in which the team will take on rival Maynard Jackson as well as other competitive teams like Chapel Hill over the 5k distance at the meet hosted by Chapel Hill at the Clinton Nature Preserve course on Saturday, Oct. 23rd.
