A recent study by the National Survey of Children’s Health (NSCH) round that Georgia has the eighth highest rate of obesity in youth aged 10 to 17 at 18.4 percent. Southern states had disproportionately high rates compared to the rest of the country. The study, which is based on data from 2017, highlighted the importance of addressing youth obesity.
