As soon as you walk into Moe’s Southwest Grill, you’re greeted with “Welcome to Moe’s!” The warm smiles greet you, and with the scent of steaming tortillas wafting in the air, you’re just as happy as the staff. The whole restaurant radiates positivity.

For years Moe’s has faced the challenge of competing with its rival, Willy’s. With each other as competitors, they’re faced with the tough challenge of keeping and gaining customers. Though both specialize in Southwest food, they each have different environments when it comes to the community and staff that makes one different from the other.

“Moe’s has really good service by always greeting you at the door, ” customer Luis Gutierrez said. “It makes me feel comfortable and at home.”

Moe’s strives and succeeds at making their food taste like home and treating you like part of their family, instantly setting apart Moe’s from many mainstream restaurant chains.

“We strive to keep our customers happy, and that’s only possible by treating them like special people in the very large community,” said manager Jamie Killingsworth. “I think that makes us unique, and a more enjoyable place to be.”

Moe’s also aims to feed their community fresh organic food, without GMOs (Genetically Modified Organisms). This makes their food fresh and tasty.

“Moe’s claims to have organic fresh food, which differs from other restaurants,” Gutierrez said. “It’s better than just eating a processed burger at McDonald’s, that doesn’t have those fresh ingredients.”

Moe’s’ main competition is Willy’s due to their similar style of Southwest grill-type food, and they’re in close proximity to each other. This rivalry causes issues with amounts of loyal customers coming into their restaurants and customers that always come back.

“Yes, the competition with Willy’s has affected how many people come in, but the people that come into Moe’s usually tend to come back,” said Killingsworth. “However, I think people enjoy coming to Moe’s not only for the food but also the staff.”

There are several customers who do return to Moe’s for several reasons including the environment that makes Moe’s unique, as well as what they’re putting in their mouths.

“I could go to Moe’s every day if I wanted to,” said Blythe Kidwell, a loyal customer of Moe’s. “The food there is great, and not only that, the environment at Moe’s is just fun.”

Moe’s has many options to choose from, that can satisfy any customer that comes inside a Moe’s restaurant. From burritos to nachos, quesadillas, and tacos there is something for everyone including vegans, vegetarians, and picky eaters,” Kidwell said. “The chicken is really good and tasty, and Moe’s has the world’s best queso.”

Moe’s always has a well-staffed restaurant no matter where it is located. In each location, their priority is not only the food but also their customers.

“The people who work here make Moe’s a special place, we work in such a great location, so we’re really happy to serve the community,” said Killingsworth.
