Coming into effect in 2026, the new law passed by the Atlanta City Council will restrict right-hand turns at red lights. While some believe the law will increase traffic, others think the law will make the streets of Midtown much safer.

Cross country team speeds through invitational meet

The cross country team competed in the Aubrae Gunderson Invitational meet at the International Horse park in Conyers on Saturday, September 26. Although the rain impeded the runners and the scoring, the varsity girls team finished second behind North Hall. Senior Gracie Griffith led the team with a second place time of 21:19. Freshman Anna Tischer finished sixth place with a time of 21:52, and senior Meredith Fossitt finished fourteenth with a time of 22:57. Even though some of the lead runners from other schools went off course, seniors Anders and Graham Russell led the varsity boys team to a third place finish.

The next APS meet will take place tomorrow at Grant Park, and the APS Championship is on Oct. 7.
